Thorn Creek Audubon Sponsors Annual Hummingbird Banding
Sponsored by Thorn Creek Audubon, the Forest Preserve District of Will County (FPDWC) hosted a Hummingbird Banding web event on August 19. Viewers learned a wealth of information about Ruby-throated Hummingbirds and watched as volunteers gently captured these little gems for banding, weighing, and measuring.

The banding is an annual event sponsored by Thorn Creek Audubon Society and hosted by FPDWC. The event is usually open to anyone to attend in person. Due to COVID, attendance was limited to participants, and video was taken to share online.
Hummingbird banding and other chapter projects are supported by Thorn Creek Audubon member dues and contributions.
