This under birded preserve has a 35-acre lake surrounded by woods with several species of oak trees and a long swath of prairie plants. We'll check the lake and walk the perimeter to look for sparrows and warblers in the tall grasses & flowers and scour the trees for Yellow-Bellied Sapsuckers, Brown Creepers, Red-headed Woodpeckers, and more.
Meet near the far end of the parking lot. There are porta pottys. The walk is on a mowed lawn path.
The bird walk is free and open to everyone. New birders are welcome! No registration required.
Leaders: Pat Andersen, Diane Hicks.
