Event Type: Bird Walk
Date: Saturday, October 9, 2021
Time: 8:00 am - 10:00 am
Location: Goodenow Grove/Plum Creek Nature Center
Address: 27064 Dutton Road, Beecher, IL (Map)
Mature forest, prairie, wetland and a portion of Plum Creek are the predominant habitats of this Forest Preserve District of Will County preserve. We'll look for migrating sparrows, warblers, and finches along with many year-round and arriving winter residents. New birders are welcome!
Meet at the western most parking lot at Goodenow Grove/Plum Creek Nature Center. When you arrive, drive past the main parking lot in front of the Nature Center and go to the next parking lot (Map).
There are porta pottys; the nature center with restrooms opens at 10:00 am. The walk is on natural surfaces (dirt trails and wood chip and gravel paths).
The bird walk is free and open to everyone. New birders are welcome! No registration required.
Leaders: Linda Hickey, Diane Hicks.
