Hope you can join us to look for early warblers and other delightful spring arrivals. This diverse habitat is also home to six species of woodpeckers and a variety of year-round residents. The bird hike is on paved and natural surfaces (dirt trails). New birders are welcome!
We’ll meet at the second parking lot. After entering the Preserve from LaPorte Rd, drive to where the park roadway dead ends at the second parking lot.
The bird walk is free and open to everyone. However, PREREGISTRATION is required and groups are limited to 8 people per leader due to COVID-19 precautions. The number of leaders per trip field varies.
TO REGISTER: Send an email to: thorncreekaudubon@gmail.com. Include the location & date of the field trip, your name, and your preferred email address. Within a few days, you’ll receive an email either confirming your registration or letting you know you’re on the wait list.
COVID-19 Safety Requirements
- Limit of 8 people per leader
- Face masks are required for everyone and must cover both nose and mouth
- Participants should socially distance, staying 6 feet apart from each other
- No sharing of binoculars except with household members
- No car pooling unless you live in the same household
- If you are feeling ill or have any symptoms of COVID or have been exposed to anyone who has, we ask you to please cancel.
