Location: Anywhere in Illinois - solo or with friends!
Which Audubon chapter in Illinois can tally the most species? The Illinois Audubon Chapter Big Day competition among Illinois Audubon Society chapters and affiliates will determine the winners!
Participation is open to members and non-members. Chapter and Individual Big Day Champions will be named.
It's easy to participate:
1. Register to be on the Thorn Creek Audubon roster on the Illinois Audubon website. Use the Register Now button below.
2. Bird solo or with friends anywhere in Illinois on May 14.
3. Submit your list of species to Thorn Creek Audubon.
Important:
- Participants need to register in advance.
- There are a few simple rules to follow. See page 2 of the attached flyer.
- Registration Deadline: May 12 at 5:00 pm
SPECIAL AWARDS from Illinois Audubon in addition to the Chapter with the most species:
• Individual with the highest species count
• Individual aged 18 years and under with the highest species count
• Individual aged 80 years and over with the highest species count

Illinois Audubon will announce the 1st & 2nd place teams May 19. Special awards will be announced May 25.
PLUS, Thorn Creek Audubon will be recognizing birders on our Big Day roster:
• Top five birders with the highest species count
• Individual aged 18 years and under with the highest species count
• Individual aged 80 years and over with the highest species count
