We’ll look for ducks on the lake and check the nature center feeders. Then we’ll walk through the woods to look for warblers and other fall migrants, sparrows, and preserve residents, including the six species of woodpeckers that frequent the woods.
Meet in the parking lot in front of the nature center. There are restrooms in the Nature Center. The walk is on natural surfaces (wood chip paths and dirt trails).
The bird walk is free and open to everyone. New birders are welcome! No registration required.

- Masks are optional for fully vaccinated participants. This could change if state or Cook County COVID safety protection requirements change by the event date, e.g., masks become required for fully vaccinated people at an outdoor event.
- We request that anyone who is not fully vaccinated wear a face mask covering both nose and mouth
- If you are feeling ill or have any symptoms of COVID or have been exposed to anyone who has COVID, please play it safe for everyone involved and do not attend.
