THIS TRIP IS FULL

Hope you can join us to look for herons, warblers, vireos, raptors, and more. Soras are here in May, though these secretive birds can be hard to see. This Sora was seen at Helmick close to the path in 2020. We’ll walk by marshland, open water, grassy areas, and wooded sections. The bird hike is on a paved path. New birders are welcome!

We’ll meet at the corner of Central Ave and Miller Circle Drive. Park along the north side of Miller Circle Drive. Note: Miller Circle Drive loops around Matteson Auto Mall and intersects Central Ave twice. Meet at the southern intersection. Map.

The bird walk is free and open to everyone. However, PREREGISTRATION is required and groups are limited to 8 people per leader due to COVID-19 precautions. The number of leaders per trip field varies.

If you register and later need to cancel, no problem. We're flexible! Each registration confirmation provides contact info.

TO REGISTER: Send an email to: thorncreekaudubon@gmail.com. Include the location & date of the field trip, your name, and your preferred email address. Within a few days, you’ll receive an email either confirming your registration or letting you know you’re on the wait list.
