Join Matt Kalwasinski as he talks about the variety of hawk and owl species that can be seen in our area, both year-round and during specific times. Matt will discuss basic identification tips along with where and when to find these incredible species of birds.

Matt is a high school Psychology teacher in Munster, Indiana and is the Vice-President of the Dunes-Calumet Audubon Society. Along with giving birding presentations, Matt leads field trips throughout the year, including the Indiana Dunes Birding Festival. Additionally, he loves traveling in the continental United States in hopes of finding new birds, while appreciating the beauty of the natural world.
