Event Type: Bird Walk
Date: Reschedule for 10/22 - Sunday, October 15, 2023
Time: 7:30 am - 9:30 am
Location: Homewood Izaak Walton Preserve
Address: 1100 W. Ridge Road, Homewood, IL Map
Due to the weather forecast and muddy condition of the trails, this walk has been rescheduled for October 22.
Lakes, woodlands, ancient sand dunes, native prairie, and wetlands make up the 193 acres of this preserve. We’ll explore several habitat areas looking for fall migrants, lingering summer nesters, and year-round residents.
Meet in the parking lot next to the main meeting cabin.
The walk is on natural surfaces (dirt trails and wood chip and gravel paths). There is a porta potty at the parking lot.
The bird walk is free and open to everyone. New birders are welcome! No registration required.
Leaders: Judy Johnson and Linda Hickey
Last minute event changes: Occasionally weather or site conditions, such as a flooded path, necessitate a last minute cancellation. Use the form below to sign up for an event change notification. We’ll email you if this bird walk has to be cancelled.
